Here is a link to a very interesting article which helps understand the future of plastic.

Dr Chachra  gives a view into something we at Free Geek have a understanding of, and hopefully are making a small impact on the future.

  1. Hi Brad,

This article brings up something that isn’t usually considered when the subject is peak oil. However as Dr Debbie Chachra points out plastics were being made, from cellulose produced in plants, before Du Pond came along patenting ways to make plastic from petroleum. Eastman Kodak converted tree cellulose into film. Mindfully.org details this at http://www.mindfully.org/Plastic/Trees-Into-Plastic.htm. Wikipedia has an article on what is now called bioplastic at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioplastic
